Chandel, (DIO/IPR) Deputy Commissioner Chandel, Shri Mayanglambam Rajkumar and the SP Chandel, Shri Hemant Pandey had a fruitful interaction with the Students and the Teachers of the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Liwa Khullen Sarei, Chandel yesterday. As part of the program the Deputy Commissioner and the Superintendent of police interacted with the students of the school who are from different communities of the state.
Speaking on the sideline of the program, Principal of the School, Dr. Amarson Sankhil said that the cultural and an interaction program were organized with the message of unity in diversity, and that while the state is embroiled in communal tensions the school has become a beacon of hope and unity as more than 500 students who belongs to 15 different communities are all studying and staying together peacefully in the school. He further added that education plays a very important role in bringing peace and harmony in the society and appealed that education should be kept out of politics.
As part of the program, students from different communities like Anal, Meitei, Kuki, Muslims, Aimol , Moyon, Monsang Tangkhul etc performed different cultural dances and skits.
