“Chief Minister Announces Women’s Police Battalion and Ration Allowance Increase on Manipur Police Raising Day”

Imphal: Chief Minister N. Biren Singh announced significant developments. Firstly, a Women’s Police Battalion will soon be established. Secondly, the Ration Money allowance for Police personnel will be increased by Rs. 500 each.

These announcements were made during the 132nd Manipur Police Raising Day, where N. Biren Singh served as the Chief Guest. In his speech, he emphasized the essential role of the State Police, not only in maintaining law and order but also in areas such as sports and civic assistance.

The Chief Minister recognized the challenges and sacrifices made by the State Police. He stressed the government’s commitment to ensuring the quality and transparency of uniform and ration supplies to the police.

N. Biren Singh also highlighted the return of arms and ammunition previously looted from the State Police, expressing confidence in the police and security forces. He called on those possessing illegal weapons to voluntarily return them to the State government, assuring that no cases would be filed against them.

Addressing the issue of drug abuse, the Chief Minister mentioned the War on Drugs campaign, emphasizing that it aims to protect the present and future generations. Efforts to identify poppy plantations are being made, even employing drones and UAVs.

Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, and other central leaders are closely monitoring Manipur, and the Chief Minister thanked Central Ministries for their support.

N. Biren Singh urged those blocking National Highways to ensure the free movement of essential commodities to strengthen the State’s economy. He also warned against threatening drivers and extortion, emphasizing that State commandos would take countermeasures.

The Chief Minister extended his condolences to the personnel who sacrificed their lives to protect the State during the recent turmoil. He praised their bravery and wished all ranks and files of the State Police well on the 132nd Raising Day of the Manipur Police.

DGP Rajiv Singh briefly discussed the history of the Manipur Police and highlighted their efforts during recent violence. The police force’s achievements were also noted.

The event included the presentation of DGP Running Trophies, with various units and individuals receiving awards. There were Nishan Toli and March Past performances, a skill display by the Manipur Police Sports Club, and a motorcycle display.

Prominent figures in attendance included Manipur State Assembly Speaker Thokchom Satyabrata Singh, various Ministers, MLAs, and Chief Secretary Dr. Vineet Joshi. Civil and police senior officials from various forces also participated in the event.
