Security Forces Uncover Cache of Weapons and Explosives in Anti-Miscreant Operation Near Uyumakhong Village

Imphal : based on a specific input from own sources and corroborated by 5 Sikh about the movement of miscreants and caching of explosives, arms and ammunitions near Uyumakhong village under MRG PS, a combined team of Bishnupur District Police led by Addl SP OPS Bishnupur, OC CDO and OC MRG and two columns of 5 Sikh led by Major Saurabh Srivastava and Maj Ankur Yadav and a platoon of E234 CRPF led by Insp Dalpat Singh in the presence of Executive Magistrate under the overall supervision of IGP Zone II, DIG Range III and SP BPR conducted search operation in the said area. Some areas were cordoned near the village from 0600 hrs and started searching in the area. In the operation the following arms and explosives were recovered from a kutcha roadside nalla near Uyumakhong leading to paddy fields :
1) 1(one) SLR rifle with magazine
2) 1(one) carbine without magazine
3) 4(four) HE Hand Grenade
4)1(one) 51 mm Smoke bomb
5) 1(one) WP Smoke Bomb
6) 2(two) nos of 2 inch Para Bomb
The operation was closed at 8 am. A case is taken up at Moirang Police Station for further investigation .
