Imphal: Ex-MLA O. Joy Singh along with a team of ex-MLAs, including R.K. Anand Singh, E. Chand Singh, and P. Sharatchandra Singh, met with Governor Miss Anusuiya Uikey Governor Manipur in Manipur. They urged the initiation of a peace process to restore normalcy, submitting a memorandum to cease all forms of violence.
Emphasizing faith in parliamentary democracy, they called for a democratic resolution by the Centre. Acknowledging the Governor’s role in peace efforts, they hoped for a dialogue between communities. The team urged the Governor to appeal to the Prime Minister for peace in the New Year, suggesting actions like implementing NRC (1951 base year) and addressing various issues.
The Governor assured the team that their suggestions would be conveyed to the Prime Minister and encouraged ongoing efforts for peace in Manipur.
