AMWJU Seminar Explores Media’s Role in Restoring Normalcy in Manipur

Imphal: The All Manipur Working Journalists Union (AMWJU) organized a one-day seminar discussing the “Role of Media in restoring normalcy in Manipur.” The event, part of the golden jubilee celebration of AMWJU in 2024, took place at the Manipur Press Club.

Dignitaries such as Dr. Th. Charanjeet, MCS, Director of Information and Public Relations, Government of Manipur; N. Herojit, IPS, DIG, Manipur Police; Khogendra Khomdram, President of Editors Guild Manipur (EGM); and Bijoy Kakchingtabam, President of AMWJU, graced the inaugural function.

Resource persons for the seminar included N. Herojit Singh, IPS, DIG, Manipur Police; Khogendra Khomdram, President, EGM; Irengbam Arun, Senior Editor, Imphal Free Press; Yumnam Rupachandra, Senior Editor, Impact TV; Samom Sobhapati, Correspondent, Assam Tribune; T. Romesh, Joint Director, DIPR; Peter Adani, President, Manipur Hill Journalists Union; and Rinku Khumukcham, Editor, Imphal Times. The Technical Session was chaired by BB Sharma, IIS (Retd).

Journalists from various media houses actively participated in the seminar, contributing to the discourse on the crucial role of media in the current situation in Manipur.
