Imphal: Assam Rifles Battalion under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) pays tribute to Martys of Dolai Thavi battle and distributed six 1.5 KV Generator Set to the six villages of Nongsum, Chanung, Uyumpok, Keibi Relief Camp, Sekta and VPF of Sinam Kom area of Imphal East District.
The Aim of the Event was to pay tributes to Late Rfn (GD) Alok Rao who got Martyr in fighting suspected Kuki Militants on 10 May 2023 in Dolaithavi area and foster a closer relationship between the local populace and the Assam Rifles.
The event started with hundreds of Meirapaibis of 36 Villages of Sawombung, Pukhao area paying floral tribute to the Martys Rfn (L) Alok Kumar followed by floral tribute by IG, Maj Genenral VK Nambiar of IGAR (East) Assam Rifles.
The event also witnessed patriotic songs sung by Meirapaibis as well as Assam Rifles troops and finally culminated with the Distribution of the Six 1.5 KV Generator set to the Meirapaibis by the IG of IGAR (East).
It is worth mentioning here that 18 Assam Rifles under Colonel Oinam Akash with his team of Officer and Jawans has been continuously working day and night to maintain complete peace in Dolaithavi -Pukhao – Nongsum-Chanung- Sinam kom & Ishingthembi area and has been successful in bringing complete normalcy in the above mentioned area of Imphal East District.
- No loss of Life and Property has been reported for the Past 7 months in the area of Responsibility of 18 AR. A total of 162 Meirapaibis members and 45 CSOs from 36 Villages attended the function.
