Pan Manipuri Youth League (PANMYL) founding members Birendra passed away

NK Sanajaoba Memorial Trust in a press release stated that BirenLamba (Aheibam Birendra Singh), a Trustee Member of NK Sanajaoba Memorial Trust, passed away on 10 May 2024 after a prolonged illness. He was 77 years old and resided at Sagoldband Tera Lukrakpam Leikai of Imphal West.

The NK Sanajaoba Memorial Trust further stated that he was born on Monday 1st October 1947 at Chingamakha Heirangoithong Aheibam Leikai, Imphal, he was one of the founding members of Pan Manipuri Youth League (PANMYL), formed in 1968 at Gauhati University. His contribution in various activities for a unified Manipuri is still known to many. He taught English Literature in Oriental College, Imphal, had served as the Director of Arts and Culture, Government of Manipur and Chairman, Manipur Film Development Corporation. He retired as Chairman, North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Dimapur, Government of India.

The NK Sanajaoba Memorial Trust held a condolence meeting remembering his contributions towards Pan Manipuri as a people and as an ideology. The Trustee members felt the vacuum of a jolly person in the on-going movement of a unified people in the Western South East Asia (WESEA). The imprints of his works will remained as an integral part of the Trust.
The Trust gave a revolutionary salute to the departed soul and heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families it added.

In the meantime, Today Manipuri Chanura Leishem Marup (Macha Leima) stated that all senior members and executive members held a condolence meeting at 8 am, observing two minutes of silence at its office in Palace Compound, Pakhangba Pukhi Mapal. Macha Leima extends honor to the departed soul and offers heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
