Imphal, Manipur: Under the thorough personal supervision of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh, a dedicated flood rescue team from the Loktak Development Authority (LDA) has been actively involved in relief operations since the late evening of 28th May 2024.
The team, led by LDA Chairman Shri M. Asnikumar Singh and assisted by its Project Director Shri Bhagaton, has been working in close coordination with the Chief Secretary, district administration, and other concerned stakeholders to mitigate the impact of the recent floods.
To bolster its relief operations LDA has tied up with the fishing community of Thanga and have deployed three teams of dedicated fishermen from Thanga, equipped with their boats, to evacuate stranded individuals from the critically flood-affected areas in Imphal.
The LDA team has so far rescued more than 800 people affected by the floods and continues to spearhead the rescue and relief operations.
In addition to collaborating with the dedicated fishing community of Thanga and coordinating with multiple agencies, the Loktak Development Authority (LDA) remains vigilant in its surveillance of the low-lying areas surrounding Loktak Lake, anticipating and addressing potential flood risks.
LDA expresses its deepest gratitude to all those involved in these critical relief operations, especially the fishermen from Thanga.
The LDA and its staff are committed to leaving no stone unturned in their tireless efforts to assist in the comprehensive relief tasks being undertaken by the government.
