Imphal: Lakshman Prasad Acharya was sworn in as the new Governor of Manipur today. The oath of office was administered by Justice Siddharth Mridul, Chief Justice of the High Court of Manipur, during a ceremony held at the Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan in Imphal.
The event was attended by Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly Th. Satyabrata Singh, several Ministers, former Chief Ministers O. Ibobi Singh and Radhabinod Koijam, MLAs, the Chief Secretary, Security Advisor, DGP, and other senior civil, military, and police officers.
Following the oath, Governor Acharya received a Rashtriya Salute and inspected a Guard of Honour presented by personnel from the Manipur Rifles and India Reserve Battalion. In his address to the media, he expressed his happiness at being among the people of Manipur and praised the state’s natural beauty. He also prayed for the quick restoration of peace in the state, urging the people to come together with open minds to ensure peace and prosperity.
Lakshman Prasad Acharya has officially taken over as the Governor of Manipur.
