Imphal: Television and Cinema Foundation, a dedicated cinema centrist organisation with vibrant established and budding cineaste as members, is proud to learn that one of our peers has successfully gained admission to one of the leading film schools in the world. Mr. Shamurailatpam Bishwajit Sharma, son of Phurailatpam Brajamuhini Devi of Bishnupur Makha Leikai, has the luxury of being a proud student of the Northern Film School at Leeds, Beckett University, UK, an elite and one of the most prestigious film schools around the globe. Bishwajit could get into the MA in Documentary Film-making after winning the LBU Global Award Scholarship, a very competitive scholarship where he has competed with 100-odd eligible competitors worldwide. The scholarship covers tuition fees, accommodation, and living expenses. Bishwajit has been making films for more than a decade and recently won recognition as one of the ’75 Creative Minds of Tomorrow’ at the 59th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), 2023, an incredible feat indeed.
Bishwajit has acknowledged that engagement with inclusive organisations such as the Manipur State Film Development Society and the Television and Cinema Foundation has played a crucial role in keeping his passion alive throughout.
TC Foundation has committed to imparting cognition of good cinema by promoting young filmmakers. Bishwajit will inspire many to take serious notes of the fine intricacies and academic nuances of film art and business.
