Imphal East: An alarming incident unfolded at Kongba Laishram Leikai last night around 10:19 PM, when unidentified individuals fired three rounds of bullets at a car parked in front of the residence of Haobam Seema. While no injuries were reported, the attack has left the community in shock and fear.
In response, the local women’s group, Meira Paibi Lup, organized a protest sit-in at the “Lousingi Sanglen”, condemning the incident and demanding immediate action. The protesters questioned the motives behind such a violent act in a residential area and called on the attackers to publicly explain who was responsible and the reason for the attack.
“This is deeply distressing for the entire community. We need answers, and we demand justice,” said one of the Meira Paibis at the protest.
The incident has sparked widespread concern among residents, with fears of further unrest. The Meira Paibis have urged authorities to ensure the safety of the public, conduct a thorough investigation, and take prompt action to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
Meanwhile, the local community of kongba of laishram leikai remains on edge, seeking clarity and justice.
