Imphal: CM N. Biren Singh has indeed submitted his resignation to the Governor, but this doesn’t necessarily mean he’s stepping down immediately. According to reports, the Governor has asked him to continue serving as the caretaker Chief Minister until a new government takes charge.
This development comes after the BJP’s victory in the Manipur elections, and it’s likely that the party’s central leadership will decide on the new leadership within a day or two.
