A group of young Manipuris residing in Dubai has come together to establish a guest house to support individuals seeking employment opportunities in the UAE. In a press conference held by Jotin Thokchom, Convenor of Kanglei San-Gai, Ajman, UAE, and representative of Loktak Decor LLC, crucial information regarding job openings, eligibility, interview processes, and UAE labor regulations was shared.
Preventing Job Scams & Securing Employment. One of the primary objectives of this press meet was to raise awareness against fraudulent job agencies that exploit job seekers by demanding excessive fees without offering legitimate placements. Kanglei San-Gai aims to provide a secure, transparent, and affordable recruitment process for Manipuris looking to work in Dubai. At present, 14 male candidates and 6 female candidates has secured employment opportunities.
Growing Job Demand in UAE, India’s trade relations with the UAE have significantly strengthened, with exports reaching $11.3 billion (₹97,000 crore). Kerala has notably benefited from this economic exchange, and similar opportunities can be extended to Manipur. If the Manipur Government facilitates an official guest house, Kanglei San-Gai can help place 150-200 skilled workers in Dubai, generating substantial remittances for the state’s economy.
Business & Tourism Prospects in Dubai. Dubai is a major global business hub, offering extensive opportunities for entrepreneurs and enterprises. With the right strategy, Manipuri youth can secure well-paying jobs in various industries. Additionally, Kanglei San-Gai is actively working towards promoting Manipuri culture and tourism in Dubai, with plans to participate in Dubai’s Global Village collaborate with the Tourism Department and Art , Culture Department. and also Horticulture Department to establish an Organic outlet in Dubai for Manipuri products

Future Plans: To strengthen trade and employment opportunities, discussions are underway with the Assam Government to establish a direct Guwahati-Dubai weekly flight. This initiative aims to boost tourism and economic ties between the Northeast and the UAE.
