Imphal: Assam Rifles successfully apprehended an individual namely, Mr Letgoumang Thouthang, s/o Mr Shokongam Thouthang, r/o Thouthang village, Saikul, Senapati Dist, from General Area Jouzangtek village, Noney Dist on 28 Mar 2025. Following up the apprehension, 5 other individuals, namely Mr Khaikahao Kipgen, Mr Aabi Baral, Mr Jitten Kharka, Ms L H Ranirou and Ms Leah Chou were arrested by Manipur Police on 29 Mar 2025, along with 174 cases of Brown Sugar.
Over the past few months, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police have been actively involved in operations to dismantle illegal drug trade in Manipur. The apprehension of drug traffickers and seizing of drugs is a significant step towards achieveing stability in the region as well as in respective areas of responsibility.
Assam Rifles remains committed to disrupt the supply chain of illegal drugs and dismantle the smuggling network, impacting their ability to operate.
