Imphal: In a significant opera1tion, the Assam Rifles successfully recovered a cache of weapons and war like stores in General Area between Bijang and Pholjang, Kangpokpi district, Manipur. Through diligent surveillance, coordinated efforts and collecting credible intelligence from sources, Assam Rifles has been able to disrupt illegal wepaon smuggling networks, ensuring security and peace in the region.
The recovered weapons incl one 5.56 mm Insas Rif one .303 Rif, five Bolt Action Rif, three Single Barrel Rif, two Pull Mech Rif and six Improvised Mortar with other war like stores.
The recovery of these weapons is a crucial step in the ongoing efforts to curb violence in Manipur and a testament to Assam Rifles dedication and effectiveness in maintaining law and order. It not only disrupts the supply chain of arms to insurgent groups but also serves as a deterrent against future illegal arms trafficking.
