Imphal: Amid the ongoing crisis caused by devastating floods in Manipur, the Lions Clubs under International District 322D have carried out a major humanitarian relief drive, delivering essential aid to flood-affected families across Thoubal and Kakching districts.
Led by Lion M. Shyambabu Singh MJF, Global Service Co-ordinator-I (2024–25), the initiative reflects the Lions Clubs’ motto “We Serve”, reaffirming their commitment to stand with communities in times of distress.
Following earlier relief operations conducted on July 3rd, 4th, and 7th, this latest phase of distribution supported 202 displaced families, benefiting a total of 1,010 individuals.
The relief materials were provided with the support of an emergency grant from the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF), and included rice, cooking oil, salt, potatoes, dal (pulses), soy bori, and packaged drinking water.
The distribution covered the following localities:
- Rice Research Station, Wangbal – 120 beneficiaries
- Langmeidong Higher Secondary School – 150 beneficiaries
- Kodompokpi Stadium, Wangjing – 250 beneficiaries
- Indoor Stadium, Kakching – 170 beneficiaries
- Langmeidong Girls’ Aided School – 150 beneficiaries
- Khokomdon Bishnupur School, Kakching Khunou – 170 beneficiaries
Total: 1,010 beneficiaries
The Lions Clubs’ consistent service efforts have brought not just material assistance but also a message of solidarity, resilience, and hope for those affected by the floods.
