Imphal,Tupul,Noney: Assam Rifles successfully apprehended drug traffickers and seized large amount of illegal narcotics, from Tupul, Noney, on 09 Jul 2025. The suspected individuals were moving in a Scorpio from Imphal to Jiribam, along National Highway 37.
After receiving input about likely trafficking of narcotics, Assam Rifles personnels and Manipur police became vigilant and intercepted the vehicle matching description at Tupul Bridge in Noney.
During the search operation 196 Soap Cases of suspected Heroin/ Brown Sugar, weighing 2.193 kilograms,costing multiple Crores were seized.
Over the past few months, Assam Rifles has been actively involved in dismantling illegal drug trade in Manipur. The apprehension of drug traffickers and seizing of drugs is a significant step towards achieving stability in the region. Assam Rifles remains committed towards disrupting the supply chain of illegal drugs and apprehending drug smugglers.
