Imphal:  In a vibrant celebration of leadership and service, Keisham Yaiphaba, a journalist, was formally installed as the President of Lions Club of Canchipur Centurion for the Lionistic Year 2025–26. The installation took place during a joint Annual Function cum Installation Ceremony held at PD Dental Clinic, Canchipur, alongside the Lions Clubs of Canchipur Palace and Canchipur Unified.

The ceremonial event was graced by Lion Th. Kesho Singh PMJF, Immediate Past District Governor of Lions District 322D, and Lion M. Gojendro Singh SCA, MJF, Past District Governor, who served as Installation Officer and Induction Officer respectively. The program began with flag salutation, invocation, and a moment of silence for world peace, followed by the induction of new members and installation of incoming Boards of Directors.

Yaiphaba, known for his strong voice in media and advocacy, brings a fresh energy and vision to the Lions movement in Manipur. In his acceptance speech, he reflected, “Journalism has taught me the power of truth and the importance of raising real issues. Today, as I take on this new responsibility, I bring those same values to the Lions Club — to serve not just with goodwill, but with meaningful action.”

He outlined a roadmap for the coming year that includes organizing free medical camps, providing educational assistance to underprivileged students, creating youth engagement platforms, supporting flood and disaster relief, and promoting environmental awareness through plantation and cleanliness drives.

Yaiphaba also emphasized the importance of visibility and communication in service efforts. “Service becomes more impactful when the stories behind it are told. As both a journalist and a Lion, I intend to build that bridge — between our actions and the people who need to see and be inspired by them.”

Fellow Lions, dignitaries, and well-wishers applauded his appointment, expressing confidence that his dual role in media and public service will inspire younger generations to view social work as a necessary extension of professional life.

The event concluded with fellowship and high tea, marking a new chapter of commitment, connection, and compassion for Lions Club of Canchipur Centurion under President Keisham Yaiphaba’s leadership.
