Imphal: The Manipur People’s Party (MPP) and the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) held a meeting in Guwahati today, strengthening regional ties. The AGP delegation was led by President and Assam Cabinet Minister Atul Bora,The Minister of Agriculture and Horticulture. He holds additional portfolios for Food Processing, Animal Husbandry, and Veterinary, as well as Urban Development and Town and Country Planning in the Government of Assam. While MPP President S. Brojen Mangang headed the Manipur team.

During the meeting, Bora gave a patient hearing to the MPP’s proposals and subsequently discussed the potential for setting up a business hub focused on horticulture products in the region with the Director of Assam Horticulture. The meeting also extensively deliberated on the pressing need to safeguard the constitutional rights of indigenous people.
Furthermore, the MPP expressed its intention to contest the upcoming Manipur State Assembly election, emphasizing its commitment to improving the lives of farmers if voted to power. The delegates underscored the party’s focus on farmer welfare as a key plank of its electoral campaign.
