Dirang Arunachal Pradesh:  In a remarkable display of professionalism and courage, the 90 Road Construction Company of the 42 Border Roads Task Force (BRTF) under Project Vartak successfully retrieved a Tawang-bound travel bus that had plunged into a deep valley on the BCT Road near Baisakhi, Dirang, in the early hours of October 2, 2025.

The incident occurred at around 6:30 a.m., when the bus reportedly lost control on a sharp curve and fell approximately 100 metres down a steep slope. On receipt of information, the 42 BRTF immediately launched a well-coordinated recovery operation. Teams of trained personnel, supported by heavy machinery, were swiftly deployed to the site to assess the situation and begin retrieval efforts.

Despite the challenging mountain terrain and limited accessibility, the operation was carried out with precision and with safety as the top priority. The recovery efforts commenced on October 3 and continued through October 4, 2025, as teams worked relentlessly over two days to bring the vehicle back to road level. After continuous and determined efforts, the bus was successfully recovered without any incident or injury.

Local residents and officials have lauded the dedication, resilience, and professionalism of the BRTF personnel involved in the operation. Their prompt action and coordinated response helped avert further risks and ensured the safe conclusion of the recovery effort.
The incident once again underscores the critical role played by Project Vartak and the Border Roads Organisation in maintaining connectivity and ensuring swift response to emergencies in the remote and rugged terrain of Arunachal Pradesh.
