Jung, Arunachal Pradesh:
High in the remote and rugged frontier of Arunachal Pradesh, where the mountains rise with silent grandeur and the air grows thin, the men and machines of 127 RCC, 42 BRTF, under Project Vartak, work with unyielding determination. Their mission is the construction of Road Shakti – Bab Teng Kang (BTK) to Kumrotsar, a lifeline road that will connect critical forward areas with the nation’s strategic grid.

The terrain is unforgiving, characterised by steep gradients, unstable slopes, frequent landslides, and unpredictable weather, posing a daily test of endurance. Yet, in these challenging conditions, BRO personnel work in rotating shifts, often for long hours, away from the comfort of home and the visibility of the public eye. Their efforts do not speak through headlines or ceremonies but through every meter of road carved into the mountainside.

This project is not just an engineering task; it is a strategic imperative. The BTK–Kumrotsar stretch will enable swift troop mobility, logistical flexibility, and all-weather access to sensitive border regions. Additionally, it promises to improve the socio-economic fabric of local communities, ensuring better access to health, education, and trade.
“In the silence of our great mountains: work speaks.” Their silent contribution is a powerful testament to BRO’s enduring commitment to nation-building and safeguarding India’s frontiers.
