Imphal: The Asian Hospital has announced a 20% discount on admissions and 30% discount on diagnostic tests for journalists, as informed by the hospital’s Media Coordinator, Ningthoukhongjam Bobo. This discount is being offered as part of the hospital’s support to the working journalists of Manipur, in association with the All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union (AMWJU).
Speaking on the occasion, N. Bobo said that the discount is aimed at providing relief to journalists who often face financial difficulties while seeking medical treatment. He appealed to the journalists to avail of the discount and make use of the facility. The hospital has also assured that the discount will be available to journalists who produce their AMWJU card.
The hospital has also clarified that the discount is applicable only at the designated counter and journalists are required to produce their valid AMWJU card at the time of admission. Additionally, the hospital has stated that the discount is over and above the benefits available under the PMJAY card.

The hospital has also announced that beneficiaries of the PMGSY scheme can avail of even higher discounts, up to 50%, by combining the hospital’s discount with the benefits under the scheme.
The President of AMWJU has expressed gratitude to the Asian Hospital for taking this initiative for the benefit of the journalist community. He appreciated the hospital’s gesture, stating that this is not the first time a hospital has extended such a privilege to journalists, citing Babina Diagnostics Centre, Babina Hospital and Shija Hospital and Research Institute as previous examples.
