Imphal: The Manipur Cancer Society celebrated World Cancer Day 2026 with a friendly football match between Cancer Warrior Survivors Football Team and AMBA-FC at the Artificial Football Turf, Kanglei Sanpung, Yairipok, Tulihal, on February 4, 2026.
Special guests included G. Ranjan Sharma, Social Worker; Y. Lanchandra Singh, Secretary, AIM Club; Social Activist Dr. Kiran Yendrembam; and Kangjam Birendra Singh, Secretary, Manipur Cancer Society.
The event aimed to spread awareness about cancer and promote unity, with the theme “Unity by Unique.” Dr. Kiran Yendrembam, Convenor of the World Cancer Day Football match, urged football enthusiasts to support cancer patients.
The Cancer Warrior Survivors Football Team won the match 6-5 against AMBA-FC. Kangjam Birendra Singh, Team Captain and Keeper, was awarded Player of the Match.
