Imphal: Demands Immediate Assertion of State Authority ,The Meitei Alliance strongly condemns the barbaric terrorist attack carried out by Kuki militants on Tronglaobi, in which two innocent children were killed in a rocket attack launched at Meitei homes while families were asleep. This is a heinous and unforgivable crime. The killing of children in such
an attack is a grave crime against humanity. This was not an isolated disturbance or an ordinary criminal act.The indiscriminate use of explosive weapons against civilian homes is an act of terror by any standard. Those who launch such attacks on sleeping residential areas do so with full knowledge that innocent civilians, including women and children, may be killed. That is precisely what has happened in Tronglaobi. The Meitei Alliance firmly states that such repeated attacks cannot continue to be treated as routine
law-and-order incidents.Such incidents demand resolute and firm action. We urge the State Government to take bold steps to rein in the militants and create a cohesive and secure environment as
a prerequisite for any successful peace initiative.
The State Government of Manipur is not without authority. Under the Constitution, it has the duty to
maintain public order, protect life and property, and uphold the rule of law. It must therefore act with
firmness and without hesitation against armed groups that terrorise civilians and undermine lawful
governance. The continued failure to decisively rein in such violence is a serious failure of
governance with devastating human consequences.
The Meitei Alliance therefore demands that the State Government immediately assert its full constitutional authority to identify, apprehend, and prosecute all those responsible for this attack, dismantle the infrastructure of militancy, and restore security to all affected civilian areas. The Central
Government must also provide all necessary support to ensure that terrorism in Manipur is not merely
contained in words, but defeated through decisive action. The policy of appeasement, leniency, and half-measures has failed. Children are no longer safe even inside their homes. The people of Manipur cannot be forced to live indefinitely under the shadow of
rocket attacks and armed terror. The time for symbolic responses is over. What is needed now is firm state action, strict enforcement of the law, and an unmistakable restoration of constitutional authority. The Meitei Alliance extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved family and stands in solidarity
with all innocent civilians living under the constant threat of such attacks. Justice delayed is justice denied. The memory of these two innocent children must compel immediate and decisive action.
