applied for the financial assistance
but his application has not
been considered.
The financial assistance
were provided in a simple function
held at Manipur Press
Club. President of the Poamee
Welfare Foundation and President All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union along with othermembers attended
the function.
The Paomee Welfare Foundation (PWF) has initiated the application process for the second phase of the Medical Financial Assistance (MFA) for the fiscal year 2023-24. This phase encompasses medical treatment expenditures occurring between October 1, 2023, and March 31, 2024, with disbursements slated for April-May 2024. This announcement follows the recent disbursement of Rs. 1,50,000/- under MFA Phase I for the 2023-24 period, addressing medical expenses from April 1 to September 31, 2023, by the non-profit organization associated with AMWJU.
In a distribution function at the Manipur Press Club, PWF’s leadership, including Chairman and Managing Trustee Wangkhem Shamjai and Senior Trustee Kakchingtabam Bijoy, alongside other trustees, extended financial assistance to four beneficiaries of MFA 2023-24 Phase -1.
Out of five applications received for the first phase (April to September 2023), the PWF Medical Board, comprising doctors from RIMS, JNIMS, and Shija Hospitals, deliberated on four applications. While one application was not considered due to the treatment period falling outside the first phase, the Medical Board’s recommendations for the remaining four were approved by the Board of Trustees for disbursement.
The distribution of assistance varied among beneficiaries. Chongtham Bilanta received Rs. 15, 000/- in assistance for his wife’s cataract treatment, Heijeilungle Newmei obtained the maximum assistance of Rs. 70,000/- for her mother’s thoracic treatment, Elangbam Rameshwor received Rs. 30,000/- for his son’s hernia treatment, and Khagokpam Nabakumar received Rs. 35,000/- for his wife’s Thyroid ailment.
Additionally, PWF reimbursed Rs. 44,000/- to AMWJU, covering expenses incurred while providing immediate financial assistance to its members under PWF’s Immediate Medical Relief Fund from April 1 to September 31, 2023. This underscores PWF’s commitment to supporting individuals in need and its collaborative efforts with AMWJU for immediate medical relief.
