Tamenglong:
Today, an election meeting was held at the Multipurpose Hall in Tamenglong as part of the election campaign for the NDA’s candidate, Shri K. Timothy Zimik (NPF), from the Outer Manipur Parliamentary constituency for the 18th Lok Sabha Election. The event saw the presence of a multitude of political leaders from NDA alliances, namely Shri Awangbou Newmai, Minister & State President NPF; Shri K. Timothy Zimik (IRS Retd), the candidate; Shri Khasum Vashum, Hon’ble Minister (NPF); Shri M. Asnikumar Singh, Chairman, LDA, Senior Spokesperson & Prabhari (Outer PC) BJP Manipur Pradesh; Shri Janghemlung Panmei, MLA (NPP); Shri Kikhonbou Newmai (Ex-MLA) NPP; Shri Khangthonang Panmei, Ex-MLA (NPF); district presidents of BJP, NPF, NPP; Shri Poujan Gonmei, Vice President UNC; community and religious leaders; and key members from Tamenglong, Nungba, and Tamei constituencies.

Shri K. Timothy Zimik, the candidate for the Outer PC, highlighted his vision and expressed his belief in the visionary leadership of PM Modi. He assured to work for peace and development in the state, appealing to the people of Tamenglong to vote for him in this election. Once elected, he pledged to work for the underdeveloped areas of the state under the guidance of central and state leadership. He also extended sincere thanks to Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi ji, HM Shri Amit Shah ji, and Chief Minister Shri N Biren Singh ji for their support during this crucial time.
Mr. M. Asnikumar Singh, Prabhari Manipur Outer Parliamentary Constituency of BJP Manipur Pradesh, expressed profound gratitude to the diligent workers of the NDA alliance of Tamenglong for their unwavering dedication and tireless efforts in this crucial election. He emphasized BJP’s unwavering commitment to serving the people of Manipur and beyond as the party and its alliance continue to chart new paths of progress and prosperity. Shri Asnikumar urged all the members present at the meeting to redouble their efforts in advancing PM Modi’s transformative agenda for the welfare and development of the region.
Shri Asnikumar said, “Under the leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi & CM Shri N. Biren Singh the government have delivered various welfare, development and infrastructure projects not only in Tamenglong but across the state. Things that never happened in decades of Congress Party’s rule. From improved road connectivity to alleviating the perennial challenge of drinking water scarcity in Tamenglong, we are on a path of progress and welfare. You can reach Imphal in less than 20 minutes on a helicopter these days. Presently, Tamenglong’s oranges boast global market access, heralding numerous entrepreneurial prospects, particularly for our women and youth.
Shri Asnikumar reminded the gathering that is was BJP under the stewardship of former PM Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee that established the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and Ministry of DoNER to give a special focus on the Northeastern states. Despite decades of being at the helm of nation building, the Congress party failed to implement a single policy for the region. Meanwhile, under the leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji, BJP is bringing opportunities to the people of the Northeast. Beyond development, PM Modi Ji is also showcasing our rich culture and history to every corner of our nation and the world. Rani Gaidinliu’s valour and sacrifices are now taught in schools across the nation. Before BJP, our state, its history and culture were neglected, but all that has changed now.
He stressed that, “The Congress party will always make empty promises, such as the ‘Look East’ policy, but it was the visionary leadership of PM Modi Ji that turned ‘Look East’ into the ‘Act East’ policy. Under Congress’ rule, development was a trickle-down version, where the public was the last to reap the benefits. In contrast, our party is empowering the public, including women, youth, and marginalized communities – ‘Antodaya’.”

Reflecting on the present crisis faced by the state, he added, “Today, as our state grapples with a period of unrest and violence, it’s imperative to underscore that the seeds of this turmoil were sown during the reign of the Congress party. Their divisive and communal vote bank politics have led us to these challenging times. Since 1963, Congress has predominantly governed the state, yet crucial infrastructural developments such as roads, electricity, water supply, healthcare, and welfare initiatives have remained woefully inadequate. However, significant strides have been made under BJP governance, notably within a short span. The present Lok Sabha Election is a fight between the Communal Agenda of Congress party & Development Agenda of BJP”

“As the parliamentary elections approach, I stand before the people of Tamenglong with a fervent appeal. In this critical juncture, as we chart the course for our collective future, I implore you to lend your unwavering support to the NDA candidate from NPF, Shri Timothy Zimik. By throwing our weight behind Shri Timothy Zimik, we not only affirm our commitment to the ideals of progress and development but also pave the way for a brighter tomorrow. Together, let us stand united in our resolve to propel our state forward on the path of growth and prosperity. Let us seize this opportunity to reaffirm our faith in the transformative vision of the NDA alliance and its dedication to the welfare of every citizen,” stated Shri M Asnikumar Singh.

Today’s election meeting culminated with the presentation of traditional shawls, symbolizing solidarity, and in a heartening display of solidarity, the dedicated partyworkers of BJP and its ally, NPF, affirmed their unwavering support for the NDA candidate, pledging their commitment to furthering the progress of our state and our beloved nation.
