Imphal: Chef de Mission Bobby Waikhom, IAS, who led Manipur’s contingent at the 37th National Games, extended heartfelt gratitude to Governor Miss Anusuiya Uikey for her unwavering support. In a gracious gesture, Waikhom presented a memento to Governor Uikey at Raj Bhavan, marking the team’s appreciation for her encouraging wishes bestowed upon the 560 state members, including players.
Manipur’s exceptional performance at the National Games held in Goa from October 25th to November 9th, 2023, deserves special mention. Emerging as the sole representative from Northeast India among the country’s top 7 states, Manipur secured an impressive total of 82 medals, comprising 30 gold, 22 silver, and 30 bronze. This remarkable achievement not only showcases the state’s athletic prowess but also highlights the dedication and resilience of the players and officials who contributed to Manipur’s success on the national stage. The presentation of the memento symbolizes a token of appreciation for Governor Uikey’s positive influence and support during this significant sporting event.
