Dirang, Arunachal Pradesh:A sudden cloudburst struck Sapper in Dirang, West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh on the 27 July, prompting an immediate and efficient response from the 90 Road Construction Company (RCC) of the 42 Border Roads Task Force (BRTF), operating under Project Vartak.

The incident, which occurred unexpectedly, posed significant risk to the civilian population. However, the swift mobilization of the 90 RCC team ensured the safe evacuation of residents to secure areas. Thanks to their timely intervention, no casualties or loss of property were reported.
In addition to evacuation efforts, the team carried out urgent restoration work on houses that sustained damage due to the cloudburst. Local authorities and residents acknowledged the rapid response and assistance provided by the BRO team.

An official from Project Vartak stated,
“Our teams are trained and ready to respond to such emergencies. Protecting lives and restoring normalcy is part of our commitment to the people of this region.”
The Border Roads Organisation (BRO), known for its role in developing and maintaining strategic infrastructure in remote areas, continues to uphold its motto — “We Connect, We Care.”
With monsoon-related incidents on the rise, Project Vartak’s preparedness and quick response underline its crucial role not just in road construction, but also in disaster response and community support across Arunachal Pradesh.
