Workshop on Climate Change Adaptation Strategies Held in Bishnupur

Bishnupur- A stakeholder workshop on Climate Change Adaptation Strategies was held at the Conference Hall of Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur. The program was jointly organized by MANIT Bhopal, IIT Roorkee, JNU New Delhi, RIKA India, Science Hub (Nepal), and the University of Colombo (Sri Lanka) under the APN project titled GoAL.

Key Highlights:

– Deputy Commissioner Smt. Pooja Elangbam shared insights on the district’s climate-related challenges, including floods, landslides, and drought.

– The research team presented findings on Bishnupur, followed by discussions on forest fires, changes in forest cover, agricultural impacts, and adaptation strategies.

– District-level officers and research scholars provided valuable inputs on observed climate change patterns and ongoing initiatives.

The workshop aimed to develop climate resilience strategies for the region, bringing together experts, local stakeholders, and government officials.
