Heartbroken Mother Recalls Horror of Tronglaobi Blast, Seeks Justice for Children

Imphal: In a deeply distressing account of the deadly blast at Moirang Tronglaobi of Bishenpur District, Oinam Binita, mother of the two minor children killed in the bomb attacked, recounted the final moments before the tragedy that shattered her family.

Speaking about the night of April 7, Oinam Binita said the explosion occurred around 1:30 am while her children were asleep in her arms. “They knew nothing and slept peacefully,” she said, her voice filled with grief, describing the loss as irreparable.

She further revealed that her younger child became unresponsive amid the chaos following the blast, adding to the trauma of the moment.

Oinam Binita further expressed that her husband, a serving personnel of the Border Security Force,(BSF) was away on duty at the time. She said the family had felt reassured by the presence of security forces in the area. “We slept believing that his fellow security forces would protect us,” she stated.

The incident occurred in a locality that has witnessed rising tensions in recent weeks amid the ongoing unrest in Manipur. The killing of the two children has intensified concerns over civilian safety, particularly in vulnerable areas.

The tragedy has sparked widespread anger among local residents, who have alleged serious lapses in security and demanded accountability. Calling her children “martyrs,” Binita vowed to continue her fight for justice until those responsible are brought to account.
