Imphal: The Government of Manipur has extended the suspension of mobile internet and data services, including VPN, in five districts for another two days starting from 2:00 pm on April 12.

The affected districts include Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Kakching and Bishnupur.

According to the Home Department, the decision was taken after reviewing the prevailing law and order situation, amid concerns over the potential spread of misinformation and mobilisation of unrest through social media platforms.

While mobile internet services remain suspended, broadband services continue to be conditionally restored as per earlier government orders.

The directive, issued under the Temporary Suspension of Telecommunication Services Rules, cautions that any violation of the order will invite legal action.
