Imphal – The 15th State Wrestling Championship 2026, organised by the Manipur Wrestling Association, will kick off on Saturday, June 20, 2026, with its opening function at 3:00 pm at the S.A.G. Hall, STC, Khuman Lampak, Imphal.
The Organising Committee has invited dignitaries and sports enthusiasts to attend the event. The championship will feature competitions in Senior Men, Under-17 Boys, Under-15 Boys, Free Style and Greco Roman Style, as well as Senior Women, Under-17 Girls, and Under-15 Girls Free Style categories.
Shri A. Nabachandra Singh, Retd. Director of Social Welfare, Govt. of Manipur, will grace the occasion as Chief Guest.
Shri L. Brojendro Singh, Vice President of MWA and Retd. Chief Coach, SAI, New Delhi, will preside over the function as President.
Shri L. Mahendra Singh, Past Assistant Secretary of MWA and National Medalist, and Shri Asem Bhakta Singh, President, All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union, will attend as Guests of Honour.
The closing function is scheduled for June 21, 2026.
The event aims to promote wrestling across age groups and styles in the state.
