Manipur Governor Interacts with Five IDP Students Selected for Free Education in Dehradun

Imphal: Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, interacted with five internally displaced person (IDP) students and their guardians at Lok Bhavan, Imphal.

The students have been selected for free education up to Class X at the Information Technology Institute for the Tribes of India–Doon Sanskriti School in Dehradun. Hailing from Moreh and Churachandpur and currently residing in various relief camps in Imphal, the students will receive free education along with boarding, lodging, uniforms, and other essential facilities.

The travel expenses of the students from Imphal to Dehradun will be borne by the Assam Rifles. The students were selected under the aegis of IGAR (South) from among those residing in different relief camps in Imphal.

During the interaction, the Governor described the sponsorship as a valuable opportunity and encouraged the students to make the best use of it by pursuing their studies with dedication and developing their talents to the fullest. He wished them success in their future endeavours.

The Governor also appreciated the efforts of the Assam Rifles in supporting and nurturing IDP students and helping them realise their full potential.

IGAR (South) Major General Gaurav Sharma and Commander, 9 Sector Assam Rifles, Brigadier Pratyush Kumar, attended the interaction programme.
