IMPHAl: The Seva Setu Abhiyan, organised under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan by the BJP Uripok Mandal, received an overwhelming response in Uripok on Friday, with 1,110 people participating, around 80 per cent of whom were women.
The programme was held at the Youth Club Community Hall, Uripok Achom Leikai, Lane No. 1. Kh. Raghumani Singh, MLA of 10-Uripok Assembly Constituency, played a key role in bringing together various government departments under one platform.
Organised in collaboration with the District Administration, Imphal West and line departments, 38 departmental counters were set up to provide direct access to government services and welfare schemes.
A major highlight was the Free Mega Health Camp which offered consultations in Medicine, Paediatrics, Dermatology, Dental, Diabetology, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, ENT, Eye and Optometry.
Diagnostic services including ECG, haemoglobin testing, lipid profile, kidney function tests, liver function tests, uric acid and blood sugar tests were also provided. The camp was held from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
The Social Welfare Department extended assistance under the Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana, e-KYC updation and other beneficiary services.
Departments including District Medical Office, District Supply Office, Agriculture, Fisheries and Horticulture enabled residents to access information without visiting multiple offices.
The programme began with the arrival of public and officials, followed by felicitation of dignitaries. Smt. Bhagyashree Laishram, MCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Imphal West*, delivered the welcome address.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Kh. Raghumani Singh spoke on the importance of taking public services closer to the people and ensuring welfare schemes reach intended beneficiaries.
