Modi launched ‘Viksit Bharat
@2047: Voice of Youth’ via video
conferencing today. During the program,
Prime Minister Modi addressed
the Vice Chancellors of Universities,
Heads of Institutes and
faculty members in workshops organized
at Raj Bhavans across the
country to mark the beginning of
this initiative.
In Manipur, the event was organized
at the Darbar Hall of Raj
Bhavan where Governor of Manipur
Miss Anusuiya Uikey led to witness
the speech of the Prime Minister
along with Education Minister Th.
Basanta Kumar Singh, Vice Chancellors,
Directors and heads of universities
and other higher educational
institutions in the State.
Addressing the event today, PM
Modi said, “Today is a very important
day regarding the resolutions
of a developed India. I would like to
especially congratulate all the Governors
who have organized this
workshop related to building
a developed India. Today every person,
every institution, and every organization
has to move forward with
the pledge that whatever I do
should be for a developed India.
The focus of your goals and your
resolutions should be only on developed
India,” the Prime Minister
said.
The Prime Minister asserted a
strong and empowered society gets
created only when the citizens think
in the interest of the country, only
when they think about the welfare
of the country. He believes that ‘Jan
Bhagidari’ is such a mantra through
which even the biggest resolutions
can be accomplished. “Be it ‘Digital
India’, ‘Vocal for Local’ or Swachh
Bharat Abhiyan, we have all seen
the power of ‘Sabka Prayas’.
After the Prime Minister’s
speech, panel discussions were held
on three topics namely- Empowered
Indians, Thriving and Sustainable
Economy and Innovation, Science
and Technology.
On Empowered Indians, experts
from Manipur University of Culture
and Bir Tikendrajit University expressed
their views on how the citizens
especially the youths can be
empowered by enhancing knowledge
and its application towards
building a strong and developed
nation. On Thriving and Sustainable
Economy, experts from Manipur
University and Dhanamanjuri University
opined for tapping and
channelizing resources which can
bring about sustainable economic
prosperity towards making India a
developed nation by 2047. On Innovation,
Science and Technology,
expert from Central Agricultural University
advocated the need to develop
and introduce new technologies
in agricultural sector so as to
increase productivity.
Expert from Indian Institute
of Information Technology (IIIT)
opined to develop innovative
ideas in Science and Technology
so that products can be manufactured
directly instead of importing
from other countries and
assembling it in India.
Speaking after the discussion
sessions, Governor of
Manipur Miss Anusuiya Uikey
said, Indian policy makers today
have a new clear goal. Because
our Prime Minister Narendra
Modi in his Independence Day
speech has set the vision and
goal of making India a developed
nation in the next 25 years
by the time we celebrate 100
years of independence in the
year 2047. Addressing the nation
from the ramparts of the Red
Fort on the occasion of the 77th
Independence Day, the Prime
Minister had announced that
India will achieve the status of a
developed country by the year
- He made this claim on the
basis of the country’s potential,
available resources and especially
the strength of the youth.
The next five years are an important
“golden opportunity” to
realize this aspiration.
Governor continued that
our country is currently at a turning
point and has the potential
to shape the new world order
emerging after the Covid pandemic.
She further said that Vision
India/2047 is a project
launched by NITI Aayog to prepare
a blueprint for India’s development
in the next 25 years.
The project aims to make India a
global leader in innovation and
technology, which will also be a
model country in terms of human
development and social
welfare and a strong advocate
of environmental sustainability.
Our country is a country of
youth because 20 percent of the
world’s youth are in our country.
Our youth today are energetic,
enthusiastic and are going
to be the citizens who will
shape India for 2047 and their
views will be most relevant in
creating a vision for a developing
India-2047.
Governor stated that Developed
India is a huge opportunity
for them. Therefore, it is important
that college and university
students should participate
enthusiastically and in large
numbers in Ideas from Youth for
Developed India 2047. It is also
noteworthy that the suggestions
of 10 best youth presenting
excellent ideas will be
honoured. In this, work can be
done by holding workshops in
universities and colleges,
spreading publicity in social
media, putting up banners, posters
and stands.
