ISTV Network Marks 21st Anniversary in Vibrant Celebration
Imphal: The Manipur Press Club was abuzz with festivity as the Information Service Television Network (ISTV) commemorated its 21st Foundation Day. MLA L. Rameshwor graced the event as the Chief Guest, with ISTV Network President BK Meitei presiding over the celebration. Bijoy Kakchingtabam, President of the All Manipur Working Journalist Union (AMWJU), was also in attendance as a Guest of Honour.
During the event, MLA Rameshwor emphasized the pivotal role played by the ISTV network in educating the public. He praised the network’s diverse programs, noting that they have brought wisdom to the people, particularly through insightful news and discussion programs. Rameshwor extended his best wishes to the ISTV team, encouraging them to continue their service fearlessly.
As one of the largest cable TV networks in Manipur, the ISTV Network’s reach extends to Senapati, Ukhrul, and nearly all districts in the Valley of Manipur. Despite the network’s success, the Vice President highlighted the challenges faced in managing over 10 local channels. Technological advancements, such as the internet and Jio service, pose significant obstacles. However, the ISTV team remains optimistic, continuously upgrading their technology to meet evolving demands.
The event also featured honors for panelists of the ISTV discussion hour, reporters, and cameramen, acknowledging their contributions to the network’s success.
