Manipur entrepreneur hands over book to Russian Federation Presidential Library

Imphal: (Waari Singbul Network) Deepak Shijagurumayum, a successful entrepreneur from the state, who is currently taking part in the ongoing Youth Festival in Sochi, Russia, handed over a book on Manipur unrest to the Presidential Library of Russian Federation and Sirius University Library, paving way to surge the number of people to read it.

Christened “Beyond Headlines: Deconstructing the Manipur Unrest” the book , edited by Homen Thangjam and published by Cultural Research Center Manipur, has been conceptualized to disseminate knowledge to the policymakers, media fraternity and the general public regarding the ongoing violence besetting Manipur.

Besides offering an alternative perspective, challenging the simplified interpretations present in many writings, the book argues that these accounts reduce the conflict to issues like Meitei ST inclusion, perceived discrimination, and development gaps, overlooking other crucial factors.

During the handing over ceremony of the book, Deepak, CEO of “MyGov Manipur”, a popular digital media platform, shared his thoughts and perspectives on the book, and elaborately talked about its contents to the delegates/participants of the largest youth event in the world held by the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, said a release.

The young entrepreneur also recommended the participants to read the book so as to get an in-depth understanding the genealogy and factors that led to the ongoing conflict in Manipur, India.

The book will be available at the “Presidential Library, Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation and Sirius University Library,” added the release.

For his valuable contribution and notable works in the field of media, IT and entrepreneurship inspiring thousands of youth across the state and country, Deepak was selected for the prestigious festival.
