STATE’S FIRST WATER AMUSEMENT PARK INAUGURATED BY MANIPUR CHIEF MINISTER

Imphal: (DIPR) In a significant development for the state, Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh inaugurated Manipur’s first water amusement park today, marking a milestone in local entertainment and recreation options. The inaugural ceremony, held at Thenguchingjin, Awangpotshangbam, Imphal East, saw the Chief Minister expressing his vision for enhanced local leisure facilities.

Addressing the gathering as the Chief Guest, Shri N. Biren Singh emphasized the importance of such initiatives in retaining local spending and promoting economic growth within the state. He outlined plans for expanding the park, including the addition of a trekking trail for children and a toy train, further enhancing its appeal to visitors.

Highlighting the broader development agenda, the Chief Minister underscored the government’s commitment to equality and unity in statewide progress. He announced plans for nine additional amusement parks in various locations, each with an investment of Rs. 4.5 crore. Additionally, proposed sites for a Unity Mall and Convention Centre in the Keikol area were identified, signaling further infrastructure development.

Amidst his remarks, Shri N. Biren Singh emphasized responsible communication, urging caution to prevent speeches from inciting division or offense among communities. He clarified the government’s stance on illegal immigration, distinguishing between post-1961 arrivals and long-standing residents, reiterating Manipur’s sensitivity to such issues.

Acknowledging the challenges faced by certain communities, the Chief Minister highlighted relief efforts, including the construction of prefabricated houses, financial assistance to affected farmers, and support for students through book and stationery provisions.

In his closing remarks, Shri N. Biren Singh urged locals to maintain cleanliness and assured ongoing efforts to restore peace and stability in the state. The event also saw contributions from Public Works, Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Shri Govindas Konthoujam and Water Resource, Relief, and Disaster Management Minister Shri Awangbou Newmai, who commended the Chief Minister’s dedication to statewide development.

The ceremony, attended by dignitaries including Ministers, Members of Parliament, MLAs, and key government officials, signifies a significant step forward in Manipur’su journey towards holistic development and enhanced community engagement.
