86th Nupi Lal Day Observed Across State: President Droupadi Murmu Pays Floral Tributes

 Imphal:  The 86th Nupi Lal Day was observed across Manipur, with President Droupadi Murmu paying floral tributes to the women warriors who fought against British colonial forces at the Nupi Lal Memorial Complex in Imphal.
President Droupadi Murmu paid her respects to the brave women warriors of Manipur at the Nupee Lal Memorial Complex, Imphal. The Memorial Complex stands as a tribute to the sacrifice of Manipuri women and commemorates their uprisings in which they challenged the British and feudal powers with great courage.
In her address at Senapati district, President Murmu highlighted the significance of Nupi Lal Day, stating that it represents the strength of women’s voices in bringing about positive social change.


The event was attended by Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, senior officials, and a large gathering of people, who paid homage to the martyrs.
MLA Yumnam Khemchand emphasized the importance of unity among all 36 communities in Manipur, stating that collective efforts are needed to restore peace and normalcy in the state.
The Nupi Lal Day observance was also held in other parts of Manipur, including Singjamei, Jiribam, and Imphal, with various organizations and community members participating in the events.
The day’s programs featured speeches, discussions, and cultural events, highlighting the significance of the Nupi Lal movement and the need for community unity in addressing contemporary challenges.
