IMPHAL: Deputy Chief Minister and Minister-in-Charge of Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Losii Dikho, has called for collective efforts to protect and preserve Manipur’s rich natural heritage, describing the State as a God-gifted land blessed with unparalleled natural beauty, cultural diversity and beautiful people.
“God must love Manipur very much to have taken such special care and time in creating it. There is no other place quite like it,” the Deputy Chief Minister remarked.

Losii Dikho was speaking as the Chief Guest on the fifth day of the BRICS Sustainable Lifestyle Week 2026, organised by the Department of Environment and Climate Change, Manipur, under the theme “Say No to Single-Use Plastics”, at the City Convention Centre, Palace Compound, Imphal.
Highlighting Manipur’s extraordinary natural treasures, the Deputy Chief Minister mentioned Loktak Lake, the endangered Sangai deer and the rare Shirui Lily as some of the State’s most precious natural gifts. He stressed that these invaluable assets should never be taken for granted and must be protected, preserved and cherished with a deep sense of gratitude and responsibility.

He called upon the people to make a collective commitment towards environmental protection for the sake of the land, its future and generations to come.

On the occasion, Losii Dikho administered the Mission LiFE pledge on environmental protection. He urged the participants to carry the message beyond the programme by sharing it with their families, neighbours and villages, and by making environmental responsibility an integral part of their everyday lives.
The Deputy Chief Minister also congratulated the Department of Environment and Climate Change for organising the initiative and appreciated the dedicated efforts of the Waste Warriors in their continued endeavour to protect the environment.
The programme also featured the felicitation of Waste Warriors and representatives of Cluster Level Federations (CLFs) in recognition of their valuable contributions to environmental conservation.

Among those present at the programme were Principal Secretary, Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Arun Kumar Sinha, IAS; Director, Department of Environment and Climate Change, Dr. T. Brajakumar Singh; Special Secretary, Forest, Environment and Climate Change and State Nodal Officer (BRICS), R.K.
