Imphal: The resumption of public transport along the Imphal-Dimapur-Guwahati route via National Highway -2 continued smoothly on its second day today, with more than 200 passengers leaving Imphal in a fleet of 10 vehicles.
The fleet comprising 4 buses and 6 Winger vehicles departed from the Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT) at Khuman Lampak at around 10:00 AM this morning.

In a related development, the 125 passengers who had embarked on the inaugural journey yesterday have safely reached Guwahati earlier today.
It may be mentioned that the resumption of transport service along NH -2 comes after Chief Minister Shri Yumnam Khemchand Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Smt. Nemcha Kipgen and Saitu MLA Shri Haokholet Kipgen jointly announced the reopening of National Highways for free movement of all communities and the resumption of Imphal-Dimapur-Guwahati bus service on 8th August, 2026 at Kangpokpi district.
The smooth plying of vehicles for the second consecutive day marks a significant step towards restoring normalcy and ensuring free movement along the key lifeline of the state.
