Imphal, Manipur: Today, I had the privilege of gracing the Distribution of Welfare Schemes implemented by the Social Welfare Department, Government of Manipur, at the City Convention Centre, Imphal.
The programme was attended by Hon’ble Deputy Chief Ministers Shri Losii Dikho and Smt. Nemcha Kipgen who joined virtually, along with Hon’ble Ministers, Hon’ble MLAs, Chief Secretary Dr. Puneet Kumar Goel, Commissioner (Social Welfare) Smt. Haobam Rosita, senior officials and other dignitaries.
On this occasion, welfare benefits worth Rs.91.67 crore were distributed to 2,40,758 beneficiaries across the State under 17 different schemes of the Social Welfare Department.
We also formally launched the Integrated Monthly Pension Processing System (IMPPS) to ensure faster, transparent, and more efficient pension services. MOAP Beneficiary Cards and other welfare benefits were also distributed during the programme.

Addressing the gathering, I stated that the State has gone through difficult times over the past three years which disrupted the lives of our people. To address the financial hardships faced by citizens, the Government has taken up various initiatives under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and under the guidance of Hon’ble Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman.
I expressed hope that the distribution of these benefits would provide much-needed relief to the people. I further urged all communities living in the State to consider themselves as Manipuris and to work together for a peaceful and better Manipur.

Delivering the presidential address, Chief Secretary Dr. Puneet Kumar Goel said that women, children, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, widows and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) have faced the greatest burden in recent years. He added that it is the shared responsibility of all to ensure they receive the care, protection and opportunities they deserve. He reiterated the Government’s strong commitment to inclusive development, social justice, and welfare of every section of society.
The event reflects our Government’s commitment to empowering every deserving citizen through inclusive welfare, transparent governance, and timely delivery of public services.
