Kathmandu: With the objective of preserving, promoting, and branding authentic Nepali food, indigenous tastes, and rich hospitality culture, the President Business Group has organized the ‘Third Pakku Festival-2083’ starting Sunday.
According to Shankar Bhandari, Chairman of the President Business Group, the festival—which has been running continuously for the past three years—will last for five days, from Sunday until October 29. The organizers stated that the festival will be held at President Business Group outlets in Sundhara, Maharajgunj, Battisputali, and Kalanki in Kathmandu.

Chairman Bhandari of the President Business Group said, “We want to establish Pakku not just as a dish, but as a distinct identity of Nepali taste, culture, and hospitality.”
Similarly, President’s Pakku will also be presented and promoted at a food festival to be held in Bhairahawa, Lumbini Province, outside the Kathmandu Valley. Pakku is being served in Bhairahawa with the goal of connecting indigenous food with various geographies, communities, and tourist destinations.

The President Business Group stated that the festival is being organized as a long-term campaign to introduce Pakku—a traditional dish deeply connected with Nepali social and cultural life for generations—to the new generation, domestic and foreign tourists, and the international market.
“In our view, a hotel or restaurant is not merely a place providing food and lodging, but also a representative of culture, taste, and hospitality,” the statement said. “If Nepali food can be systematically branded, it will have a positive impact on tourism promotion as well as local agriculture, animal husbandry, and job creation.”

Active in the hotel and restaurant business for the past two decades, the President Business Group currently provides direct employment to over 350 people. The organization has announced plans to expand its business network by launching new outlets in Butwal (Rupandehi) and Budhanilkantha (Kathmandu) in the near future.
